hi i was thinking of going to the vernons tomorrow any advice seeing as i have never been there before?

Just watch the tides, they are good but the water is dropping from 5.7m at about 9.50am down to 2.16m at about 4.15pm.
The water runs off the reefs fast and it is easy to get stuck if u r not watching, the blue holes on Gunn Point and the North west Vernon especially.

If you throw some sp's and chromies along the edges of the dropoffs you will almost certainly get some good trevally and queenies for a bit of fun. Look for birds as well

yep no worries, almost due North, usually takes me about 30 min to Gunn Point, and i always go from Buff Creek
Just need 4m of water to get in and out safely, have to watch the storms in the arvo this time of year as well!!

If it's windy it can be hard going if your in a little boat (-5m).
