A few pics of the young fellas first day out on the blue water on the weekend. Charles Point again and even though it was overcast the tuna and macks were still feeding. They were a little bit spooked to start with, but they must have got used to the sound of the engine because it became quite easy to sneak up on them towards the end. Again many chromies were lost once the macks started to play but when they cost me about $1.20 each to make who cares

Needless to say the young fella is still talking about it and couldn't wait to get to school to tell his friends. He is already asking when the next fishing trip is. Unfortunatly I lost a huge blue tuna at the boat :banghead:

but still a great way to spend 5 hours on a Sunday. :cheers:

Well done mate. We got around 20-30 tuna but all macks. Did not see a long tail all day.

Good sized longtail, good to see a few still about.

Might have to go through the old cutlery i reckon, havn't made any of them for years, they look great.

Yeh just don't raid the cutlery draw or the wife tends to blow up :rofl:

I raided the Salvos for them, about $1 for 8-10 knives and forks, total cost per lure is about $1.
Now thats value for money :mrgreen:

Took the young fella out again yesterday to see if we could get onto some macks and tuna. Once again he showed the old man up by catching the only fish ad his first Spaniard. A Laser Pro crazy deep in pilchard was the ammo used, we pulled him up off a bombie near Anglers Reef. We headed back into the harbour after lunch and there was little macks feeding everywere around the Larrakiya wall. Hard to intise but a few were seen to be hooked with small white plastics.
