Ive just got a new 6.5m Quintrex offshore and have visitors up for the weekend so was thinking about heading out the front. I hear the Fentons produce loads of GT's which would be good fun, What else do they get out there and at night? Im guessing the Jewies would be thin by now.
Also never been out to South Gutter, has anyone ever had much luck here bottom bouncing?? If so what are the likely species to get out there?
Got the inlaws coming so need to impress!!! Im sure you know what I mean!!

Nice neap tides. Take them to Dundee as there are a heap of tuna and Mack's out there though they will also be out around north and south gutter/Fenton. Failing that anywhere around the Vernon's will be good fun also for trevs and queenies and Mack's. Grab the FFF book for marks at all three places mentioned.

Probably see ya out at Sth Gutter stormboy, no spots to fish at though so if you see a white seajay motoring around aimlessly it will probably be me and DOLEY off the forum... We've never fished there either so hopefully all goes well.

How did you go Matty A??
All we got were a couple of large flags and a bag of tuna. Not much else for us though. bl..dy fantastic day, hardly drifted anywhere and the water was crystal clear!!
I was expecting the bottom to drop off more steeply especially the eastern end of the gutter but couldnt find the drop offs - maybe my sounder is playing up.

Hey mate
My sounder crapped out basically as soon as we left the ramp!
Relying on GPS, just did the drift thing over some marks and ended up with some small reefies which were put back. Doley got the hooks into a couple of tuna, only to have them release themselves almost immediately thereafter!
Was still a good day on the water, how good were those conditions! And the clarity was amazing as well.
I should mention that Doley managed to only fish with three rods at a time, he limited tangles to about 5, two with me and three with his own lines so he did well! And caught the mother of all mother in law fish!
Gonna get my hands on a new plotter / sounder combo....any suggestions would be welcome!!
Cheers
Matt
