Needing a blue water fix jordan and I slipped out to Leeders this morning and made our way over to Hotham to have a crack for some reefies.
Road out was a bit sloppy in places but overall for the road to Leeders not too bad. Chris told us that there had been some good barra and jewies caught int he creek this week but we stuck with our plan. Dropped the pots up the back of one of the creeks and headed over = nice smooth trip - fond the water running hard over the cape itself so went around to the jewie hole past Ruby and dropped onto a hot goldie bite. Spent a few ours there with the action almost non stop - goldies - some nice keeper but mainly small ones coming over the side to squid baits. Whent he bote slowed it menat the sharks were on the prowl and we had some good battles with some small to medium sized sharks. An occasional blue salmon came over the side as well but the jewies eluded us. As the tide turned we made our way back around to my favourite rocky ledge and snagged 3 more good sized goldies to bring us up to baglimit. With a big storm threatening we made our way back into a stiffish breeze and pulled the pots for one nice crab and one on the outside of the last pot - wasnt quick enoguh to get him into the boat before he let go.
Road home was still in the same shape as no more rain had fallen.
All in all a good day out - will post some pics tomorrow when i get abit more motivated.
Cheers
Shane

Goldies are always welcome aren't they. Great days fishing and good report Shane. Thanks for sharing.
