With the 3 boys on school horror-days and coinciding with some nice weather and their Grandad up from Perth I decided to to a 4 day trip around to Bynoe.
My eldest boy went on a 3 day scout hike to Litchfield so is was just the 2 youngest tricycle motors along for the weekend.
We left Tipperary in perfect glass off conditions and with the neap tides we though we should do well. We did well at using diesel and relaxing thats for sure!!!
Friday we worked our way doing Charles Point and then down Thrings Channel anchoring tor the night in Tapa Bay. The result? A few javelin, sharks and flag. We stayed on one reef just out from Tapa until well after dark and had these fantastic looking flying fish swimming around the lights with thier full fins on display. Never seen these ones before had huge black patches on their fins. (sorry the pic didn't really turn out at all)
Kyle got a squid in Tapa but that was about it.
Next day was spent cruising and dropping several thousand times on spots from Tapa to the Crab Claw Jew reef. We anchored there for the night and all we caught was an Abu baitcaster combo (a bit worse for wear)
Sunday was to reverse the trip back to Darwin. We went out west of Middle reef for a few more Flag, Redfish, Javelin and sharks. The plan was to Anchor on Tapa again but decided to push back to Darwin with the wind waring for Monday (good call!).
All in all it was a relaxing few days on the boat with the kids doing more than xbox, the weather was fantastic and the drinks cold.
Knew I should not have embarked on a trip on Black Friday though.

If theyr'e masto termes..The biiig buggers.. try Myrante..Not good if you have kiddies..S7 class ..check with DCC on what they use in the parks..got an idea Myrante might be banned from sale to general public. Used to use Dieldrin on th block but that's now off limits. graham

Hi Olfart
Yep they are Masto's
I have started using Termidor to try and smash them in their nests. I normally use Lorsban for the instant kill.
I have lost at least 50 of my mature Foxtails and they are now getting into my coconuts and mahoganies which I have not seen before.
The Termidor is definately working. The little b@stards have eaten through the floors of my seacons one which was full of (ex)furniture, business records and other household goods and the other full of Jarrah, sheoak, Karri and Marri slabs I got from my brothers sawmill in WA.
All of which now are worthless. I can hardly wait for the ATO to audit me and ask for our records and I tell em the whitants ate them (got pics of the destruction tho)
