Hello all and happy new year. I am thinking of upgrading my 60hp yamaha 4 stroke tiller steer to something a bit bigger or more powerfull to push my 470 topender along. I have looked at the yamaha website and i cannot see a bigger four stroke with tiller steer option. I looked at a 60 2 stroke but the only option I can see is the enduro which is a pull start with no power trim. I don't like that idea as I am quite lazy and like my lazy options. Does anyone know if I can get a bigger four strke with a tiller steer? Any other ideas would be a great help. Thanks. Dazza

Pony, it will be a few months before the finance minister allows the upgrade, so I wouldn't be waiting on me. Where did you see that the 70hp had a tiller option, I can't see it on the Yammy website? Yeah I think a 250 might be a bit of overkill!!! The max rating for that hull is 60hp, but it is out of warranty so I reckon I could go a little bit bigger, within reason. Thanks for the input fella's, I appreciate it.

don't worry about being out of warranty if you're going bigger, its the insurance that will be voided for being overpowered & with it comes the lawsuits after an accident & the other blokes insurance company finds out.
safest way is to get a new builders plate done for the horsepower required ,http://www.kpsmaritime.com.au/ this bloke did my ocean river rerate to a 150 for $375, satisfies insurance requirements. as long as you're not asking for anything ridiculous, there may be small structural changes to be made may as well go for an 80 tiller steer but their a bit heavy or 90 honda
