Shoal bay lock in : NT Barra

As we had had So little rain Justin and I hit Shoal bay for a low tide lock in on Thursday. Went up the Howard and found a nice hole for the day.

All looked good with a fair bit of fresh comming Down. But no bait in the system. Cast the net for 3 hour for a hand full of mullet.

Ended up missing a few good Barra but luck was against us.

Tide rushed in with an awsom tidal wave we could hear before we could see it!!!

Nice trip home into about 15kn wind.

You know what they say... You never know if you dont go. Also heard of 4 good Barra at kings and heaps of crabs.

we normally do pretty well for low tide lock ins and have found prawns to be the best livies over mullet even the smallest of prawns have't pulled metery's out of the holes but biggest is 90cm. normally when we go usually get around 3 or 4 legal and a few smaller ones on prawns even with just one on the hook and just throw the cast net up against small open shallow banks. anwhere from 6.8m or higher to a 1.8/2m low have found is the best

That's quie interesting I have never had much luck on prawns for Barra. ( got 2 or 3) but dont bother keeping them

YeA, dropped a Barra at least 120. But that's fishing;)
