hit shady for the opening was suppose to go for 3 days but had to cut it short due to my kid going into hospital but was still a good 2 days we got to do.
we had 2 boats and went down to the mouth at silly oclock (3am) only to find the water was very dirty headed back up to the barrages stopping around any good looking spots along the way managed to drop alot of fish around 70 to 80cm using poppers. got back up to the barrages and tried all 3 only to get heaps of rats and a few under 60cm. started later on the 2nd day as we all slept in and went to the 3rd barrage first up and there were heaps around but again using poppers and they wouldnt hook up properly so stayed there for a while only able to land about 20 fish out of around 40 hits. all fish were 50cm to the biggest 76cm. moved around all day from barrage to barrage and went back to the 3rd one as the tide pushed in and when it did it was almost a hit a cast with the popper then it shut down again. so was all fun with every one getting a legal barra and getting very frustrated with dropping good fish
