With the lack of rain around Darwin at the moment... what does everyone think about the day it opens for Saltwater side fishing.

Have they been getting enough water out that way to get the run off happeneing, or will it take some more steady rain to get it happening.

I've taken annual leave for that day. so I hope it produces.

What is every other keen run off fisho going to be doing that day??

there was a good amount of water flowing last fridaynight it needs good rain to keep it up i think. i also do the opening for 3 days have done every year so i hope it stays up

Muzza,

get in there regardless mate. You will still get fish - plus it is the tradition thing as well. Hope that you get plenty mate, tight lines and good luck.

If I can get some time off work, I might head down as well, regardless of the rainfall between now and then.

have also done the opening for the last 4 years i dont expext much from opening just mainly go have a look around and a flick better then working. there was good wwater coming over the barrage but not to sure if there getting the back up rain usually takes a while for it to go down out there though. the flood plains were still pretty full.
