Does anyone know if Corroborree is open? Just trying to think of places to take interstate visitors for a good boating trip over the next week. If we can fit in some fishing that would be good but not essential!!

Hey Olfart, I reckon thats a great idea and to be honest one that I hadn't considered! Will I have any trouble with rocks / sandbars on the tides on Sunday getting up there???
Cheers and thanks for the reminder about the mighty Adelaide!

Adelaide tide is roughly 5 hr after darwin, makes high around 2:30pm...6m down to 2.4m low at around 8 pm. Big window. check with those who spend a bit of time there, we generally go in a 4.2 and manage ok, ramp gets a bit muddy at low water. Visitors will get to see odd h/bag, and trolling the mouths of the creeks could surprise, especially the snags near manton. Small r/rats in bl/sil/red, or small hards in d/bear seem to work. have fun. graham.

matt, those tides for t/morrow...just look at the tides for the day you want to go and calculate on the 5hr differential. Ph Kai and he'll be able to tell you the window for your craft re the bars.

Hi MA, are you also looking at non-fishing spots, and if so what ages are your guests? 'Cause there are plenty of the usual touristy things around like the museum, aircraft museum, fish feeding and Flickinf Fresh (if you don't do any good at the Adelaide), East Pt military Museum, etc, but there are also a lot of things for kids around as well.
(and if some of your guests are female I'm sure some of the boys on here would happily show them a good time )

another vote here for the adelaide, even minus having a flick. Kai hansen is a bl..dy character and its worth doing the trip up to have a look around and have a beer at goat island.

Hit the Adelaide today and had lunch at Goat Island. Great outing, great feed and great host (Kai). Doesn't get any better. We didn't manage any barra, but scored a little feed of cherabin so it was a win all round really. Will be back to Goat Island in the near future and will make it more of the norm than the exception I think.
