Hey all up there hows the fishing goin?
during the holidays we had planned a fishing trip to windamere dam . Headed out on Monday morning to Dads mates place, hooked the camper trailer up to the landcruiser, checked the boat and headed off. We arrived to Cudgeegon Waters Park (windamere dam) at around 2pm. Put the boat in the water and it was P@#$ing down rain . Anyway riged the rods up and went for a fish. Trolled the main for a while with no results. Pulled up at a few snags and through a bait over the side and had a beer . After the rain cleared it was getting dark so we headed back to set up camp. The next morning we decided to go for a cruise. It doesent take long to get to the other end of the dam with a 115hp merc behind ya. pulled up near the dam wall and trolled around with no results, but their was a lot of blue green algae starting to appear and loads off weed in the water. Fished all day but still not a fish . Had a quick fish on Wednesday morning but still not even a bite . Pulled the boat out packed up and headed home, even though we didn't get a fish i still had a heap of fun

Shame about the fishless trip mate, every dog has there day .
So what exactly are the target species in that particular dam?
Whomper said something about perch as in jungle perch right?, isnt that a popular spot for bass also? will have to get down there one day to try and catch a few to see what the fuss is all about .

hey meter_seeker um i think when whomper37 refered to perch as yellow belly, or silver perch. The dam is stocked with cod, silver's, and yellow's i think.
