Oh, dont I love fishing for pigs. There are some hard pulling fish in Darwin but when you hook a big pig, you deadset know
you have him on. And if you cant turn his head quickly then its all over

There's plenty of the silver ones in Shark Bay, WA. More than I've seen anywhere, and often in three foot of water, over sand. They call 'em buffalo bream.

Getting hit by a jack or a big sooty on a lure when not expected is pretty special but watching that blackfish float slip gently under the surface is special too! The best part is the big surprise when you lift the rod tip expecting a luderick and that's not what has been chewing the cabbage. Throw in a rock shelf, a bit of swell and no one aroung to brag to if you actually get a big pig out of the water. Blood pressure stuff.

I fell a out of town meeting (burrinjuck ) coming on.......(Cant seem to get a bite here in the offcie ....)

Hi Al, I just got back into Darwin. I had no spare time unfortunately. I didn't get back into Canberra until Sunday. I am pretty sure I will be back down toward the end of April so I could plan a couple of days then. It will depend on the run-ff though. If it turns on you might have to keep the brownie points up and zip up here !! :fishing:

yep those Buff bream go, used to catch em off the North Mole in Freo WA, and at the Cottesloe Groyne, tried to catch em at Rotto, but never landed any, 10kg + monsters, even with big heavy handlines, used to pull us off the rocks!!! :lol:

I remember catching drummer in SA when young, not many of them mind. They mostly won there and then too. Well done for getting one.
