I received the following from the DPI in the mail yesterday. It outlines the maximum quantity of fish (caught in Sydney Harbour) they safely recommend eating per month.
They recommend NO fish that's caught west of Sydney Harbour Bridge be eaten, and fish caught east of the bridge you should limit to the table below.
This is the result of years of unchecked corporate pollution. The Government has closed the harbour to all commercial fishing.
The info they have distributed doesn't indicate what they affects of consuming greater quantities of fish over the last few years may lead to.
Who will pickup the cost in the future for those who have had large quantities of fish in their diet for years?
I think this is a disgrace!

This is terrible. I knew it was bad, but not this bad. I know of some people that are still eating pelagics. Do you know if people are still risking eating a few out of the harbour or avoiding it?
Cant be true..................Either Current Affair or Today Tonight would jump on this one..............
Seriously I'm thinking if it was all bad there would be more than statistics to prove your eating poisonous fish. But who knows whats in the water I reckon raw sewage pumping into Darwin Harbour would put alot of fishos off.........................but I'm yet to see that.

..........the place in question is an old chemical plant that was making "agent orange" during the Vietnam war and they had some stored on the block of land adjacent to the plant which is no longer in use i'm not 100% on the story but they have been trying to lay blame and control the chemical plume under the ground for a few year's now
...........it's a real bad deal down there...........
