Saw this pic on another forum and it p...ed me off.. I can imagine ever keeping that many fish, and I'm pretty sure it was only between 2 blokes, sure I'm guessing they have family, mates blah blah blah. but that just seems excessive to me..

Seems a little excessive but in saying that like you said your unsure of how many were fishing etc. Could be a couple of boats out getting fish for the christmas lunch etc.
At the end of the day Charter boats in Melbourne are taking that many snapper on a daily basis. Even more as the charter we went on he does three trips a day. Sometimes with over 10-15 people. So if they bag out which happened alot this year according to him they take home between 20-40 fish a session three times a day and they run two possibly three boats.
They do not catch and release as we found out and Port Phillip Bay is pretty bl..dy small in comparison to here in Darwin.

That was in double Island area off Noosa in QLD.. one boat fishing and 2-3 blokes on board. I definitly like to take home a feed when I head out, but personally I wouldn't take that many. even though the charters and pros are certainly taking far more than that, just wouldn't sit well with me I dont think..

I agree with all of the above comments. Unfortunately, photos like these, that are legal as all within bag limits will end up as potential ammo for the bl..dy Greeny watermelons.
At least with line fishing on a recreational basis, this would be a non typical catch, there is also no bycatch, no seagrass or seabed damage, no turtles necked etc etc, maybe the greenies should concentrate on all that stuff first.
A bit like that Mudcrab photo that went around, muppets trying to be the great white hunter - it happens everywhere.
I am sure that it will all get eaten here in Australia, unlike most of our fish that bl..dy get sent overseas and we end up importing Powertail from sewage ponds in SE Asia. Now that should be another Greeny target, all those wasted greenhouse gas emissions in transporting our fish there and theirs here?

It's always the same excuse too, I'm sure they were within there bag limit and not breaking the law but honestly you can't educate these retards!!!
Best bit of advice I was ever given as a young fella “If your not going to eat your fish that night the best way to store fresh fish is in the ocean" and is was well over 25 years ago. The Aboriginals understood this 50,000 years ago, admittedly they didn’t have a freezer but you get the point.
Whiles this is only my opinion, I know this will gain great debate on bag limits and not breaking any laws, but if your bag out on every trip and then whinging about marine parks popping up everywhere you really don’t have a leg to stand on.
And really what better way for an excuse to go fishing everyday if you’re only taking what you going to eat that night????

seen photos like that from channel point years ago but they were all jewies.... used to discourage people taking photos of the esky on charters as its much more pleasing to look at somebody smiling holding up a couple of good fish than a blood bath add up our bag limits & see how much fish that actually is, still more than enough

I agree that its to many fish to take and i for one would never take that many. I take enough to have a meal that night and the next being still fresh in the fridge. Then one meal for the freezer in case i cant get back out fishing.
This normally equates to 2-3 fish depending on size.
3x 55-60cm Barra 2x 65+cm Barra
or one 85cm Barra. I will not take anything over 85cm.

To many of you have to much money obviously why wouldn't you take it if its legal??? Price of fuel and other expenses now adays a fishing trip isn't so much as $50 for the day any more so it's not done as often I take poop loads of wish when I go out and none gets wasted!! Even dirty barra that I don't eat much my self you give them to some one who buys fish from the supermarket they love it cos there to used to eating poop fish! Don't understand some people who whinge about this poop there's alot worse going on to be bothered by some one who has had a good fishing trip to whinge about !!

Those sort of photo's where pretty much the norm back in the day,but for the modern era and conservational way of fishing its a bl..dy shame!Hope they didnt choke on any of the bones. Cheers.
