If its legal its OK. Fark if this is pissing you off dont go any where near a pro boat or fish market.
Totally agree The pro's are responsible for the bag limits that are imposed on us although it is good to see so many fisho's conservative fishing these days Like Doug says ,too many of you must be earning too much If you were a pensioner going out to catch a feed ,chances are you might be able to afford to put you boat in the water once a month You certainly need to make it worth your while in these sort of circumstances Your all going to be old one day ,I hope you save enough to keep you fishing on the regular basis that you do now because you'll have plenty of time on your hands I personaly dont have a problem with people taking fish as long as they are not wasted or buried in gardens because if you think about it if it wasn't me catching it and taking it home it would be me buying it from the shop= same amount of fish except I had to pay dearly for some pro to catch it Conservation for Australia begins at home,Australia not like you have been brainwashed into thinking it is you that is the problem IT'S NOT The problem is the amount of licenses and overseas export quota's Well over 60% of the annual fish catch go's overseas,if it wasnt for that our bag limits wouldn't be as misserable as they are today SO where does the real blame lay you ask With the government and poor management of the licensing and quota's of the the pro fishing industry Reduce the licenses and stop sending our stocks to people that haven't managed their industry and stocks and stop penalizing us for their mistakes Shaun sits quietly by the computer waiting for the knock om the door by the gubberment men

That biggest red emporer over the back is 10.8 kg just for Comparison to size limits !
Put it another way Doug if the three snapper at the top of the row of snapper are 35 cm and leagal , then at least 2 of the hussar (cousin to spanish flag) are somwhere between 55cm and 60 cm !!!!! Possible but very unlikely.

Fisheries figures show that the amature catch of goldies is higher than the pro catch.!!!!
Now I love to catch goldies and they eat so well too... But they grow so slow it's easy to see how WE are smashing the fish stocks...
Rather than increased limits I would like to see rolling closures !!!!
For example close Charles point for 12 months.. Then when it opens close Lorna shoals for 12 months.. And so on ...... And close them to everyone.... I don't see it ever happening but I think it would be a good thing..

All that sounds like a great idea 2Rods, and no doubt makes a heap more sence than what they will foist upon us. As usual it depends how changes end up affecting the individual on what action they take post any change. I suggest for me that changes to limits may rule out completely the infrequent long range trips consisting of 400km in car and 500km in boat on the basis of economics. The effort would then become a ramping up of frequency of trips on a much more local basis (CP,NG,SG,LS, Bynoe Harbour) , targeting the smaller limit more often and not spending as much money doing it. All the while taking fish from a smaller population already under overfishing pressure. Great result for fish and fisheries!.But thats just me, I will stay within the law, always do, the element that dont give a rats about the law will ignore the new or old bag limit anyway and be fairly comfortable that they will not get caught as the legeslation is not easy to police. Speaking of ecomics and boating I am just going out to do the other two bearings and get covered in grease ( almost another $200 just for the bits, into the black hole of boating).

How did they arrive at the figures you are talking about for the recreational side of things Did they have a man at each boat ramp counting the amount off each boat as they came in 24 hours a day for 365 days I think not so,so their figures are just ramped up cr.p to delude people like yourself and take the view away from the real picture at hand wich is the amount of our fish stocks going export Don't get me wrong I'm all for conservation of our fish stocks and was involved in club self governing of bag limits long before bag limits were made compulsory but I believe strongly in my stance on what the comercial fishing industry is doing to the stocks and feel very strongly that a stance needs to be taken so as we dont end up like these fishless countries our stocks are going to to feed The real issue is why should we be penalized for the mistakes others have made I have no doubts the pro's would like to feed the world with our stocks I have been in the industry,I have no doubts the government would like to let them It's all about money, not you and me The Australian public are so gullible and just keep bending over while these pr..ks feed it to them Less licenses, less overseas trade in fish and crustacians ,get it so as the licenses are in line with the amount of produce needed for the Australian market and can still be profitable for the pro's and f@rk the rest of the world, they made their own bad decisions not us Shaun hides as a government vehicle comes slowly past the driveway

Cant see how WE are smashing goldies at all rods when this is at the top of fishery report 106.

Now can anyone answer me this question in gubberment (im stealing that 1 shaggs) how the fark do you make a decision based on un biased science whit a disclamer like that. Looks like ive found the answer as to why a river full of barramundi has had its bag limit reduced to 3 and another river has had its bag limit increased when it needs more attention than ever. THE MORAL HIGH GROUND HAS BEEN USED. At the end of the day if you mob are so concerned about fish STOP FISHING.
