Nothing better than waking up hung-over on a Sunday morning from a big night on the drink the night before. . But as there was no wind around, mate and I decided what better way to spend the day then out in the big deep blue sea for a few hours in the old man’s boat while his away on holidays in Darwin visiting Harmsey and family. Only getting onto the water about 1230pm and reaching our destination and 130 only left us 4hours of fishing to be done, and 3hours till high tide.
The area was new to me (BARREN ISLAND) so we drove around till we found a hot spot on the sounder. We anchored right on the spot with first bait in the water we jagged a nice sweetlip. With the next few baits getting small cod and small stripey’s we thought a move could do before the change of tide. now having the perfect live bait. We threw the stripey on for bait but did not even get a touch. With the next spot being a hot spot we jagged few more sweetlips and one small Mack to finish the trip off. Wasn’t a bad day fishing with the weather holding up for us nicely for us.
Thanks a lot old man for the boat.
