Gday All, snuck out to the reef today to chase some trouts and a stray Red :hunting:

..was not to be though
the reefies were hard to come by :evil:

,spoke to a couple of blokes who were out over night at the ramp and the best i heard
was 6 decent reds..anyway we got plenty of small stuff with a couple of keepers..then while packing up and getting
ready to head for home, the floating Gar went off with a bang(i actually forgot it was still out..i had a severe hangover)
let it run and then upped the drag and came tight..10 minutes later and a bit of a chase i boated my PB mack, when we
got home i weighed it on my scales and she broke 21kgs :mrgreen:

plenty of fillets were shared between my mates and the next-door neighbour, not to worried about Siguatera(sp) as i threw some
to the cat next door on the bad side and it didn't have a stroke

took some measurements and a few photos so i can get a cast
made up..happy days..

Thanks all.....

just got a quote for a full mould from Steve here in Cairns...

$1800.. :shock:

and he wont be able to start it until Feb, which gives
me time to save a few more $$$...apparently the wife cant see the value,
but as i said to her, he's an artist & it going in the pool room regardless!!!!!!(i did say that as i was running out
the front door)...but had a look at some of the stuff he was getting ready to send off to clients in
the states( 2 x 60lb GT's) they were quality.. :applause:

Maybe instead of spending $1800.00 on getting a cast of that mackie made up you should get one of that forehead made and donate it to science, i hear the university of Queensland is doing research in to the evolution of neanderthals.

hahaha, he's a bit upset after i told every1 he filled his fourby up with petrol when it should have been diesel.. :bonk:

he hasn't had to buy mower fuel for the last 12months.. :rofl:
