Hi guys,

Here's a picture of my first Queenie that I caught the other day fishing off Balgal Beach in NQ on the shoals. Went 103cm and weighed in at just over 6kg's

Yeah mate caught it on a 40lb handline in about 8m of water. Actually didn't fight that hard as I pumped it to the surface real quick. My mate kept it to eat? I still don't know why, as I hadn't eaten them before but heard they can be like eating your rubber thong. I tried to cook a little bit and it tasted sh%t compared to the fresh spottie mack next to it. Will now let them all go in future to be with their trevalley brothers.

dicko, queenies are tremendous chewing if looked after straight after capture...particulalry the smaller ones.

bleed them immediately, then get em on ice straight away, and rip into them that night...right up there for eating IMHO

True KK, I used to throw them all back until Sconik and I kept a smaller one, bled and fresh and he made it into the best thai green curry Ive ever had.. Now smaller Queenies caught fresh mean green curry that night... Awesome chewing! :mrgreen:
