Spent the last 8 days in North Qld dodging swine flu and japs! Managed to sneak out on a full day charter and sent the misso off shopping.
I managed to land this monster only 6 nm from Port Douglas in 20m of water. Pulled like a train. As stoked as I was to get this it was the only fish I caught and for the 16 pax onboard the only other fish boxed were 5 small troutaz and a 2kg Jack.
This wouldn’t of bothered me if the crew were a decent bunch but for a family owned business in a time when one would think you would be trying to get repeat business and some good word of mouth around they were absolute wankers. Abusing passengers for losing fish, whinging, not wanting to let anyone use rods and only giving me one when I started swearing at them, not being sociable or talking to customers, etc. Bein right pr..ks!
I know it sounds like I’m just having a sook but over the five years I guided up here for the likes of Mal Miles, Seven spirit bay, Equinox, etc we provided a excellent service and a certain standard. I recommend if you are ever in Port Doglas talk to a few locals which I should of done first you will only be disappointed with this mob and I will be sending a written complaint to North Qld Tourism. The Dragon Lady sounds like a better outfit.

Pity about the cr.p you copped from from the charter mob...some people are in the wrong business if they cant treat clients right I am sure it will bite them in the arse eventually...

That's not a Red Emperor, looks like a saddle tail sea perch. But nice fish anyway
Where did he say it was an Emperor Jay? I thought the same when I saw the pick and had to check the wording.
Sure enough, no Emperor mentioned and a cracker of a red fish pictured.
