Fun on the reef : NQ Bluewater

Thought I would post a couple of pics from a recent trip to the reef. We managed to duck out last friday after work to do a bit of bottom dongin. We headed out around 4pm so got out to our chosen grounds well before dark. as we arrived we saw large schools of bait rippling the surface. Scatterd in amongst them were plenty of mack tuna some GT's and we even spotted a couple of sails herding the bait(unfortunately didn't have any gear to chase them). Sored one of the GT's on a plastic and lost another. Once we started fishin the bottom it was on for young and old. Cobes, Jacks, Nannygai, Spanglies but unfortunately also sharks. Lots of sharks. Only one in 2 fish made it to the surface. Oh well, thats the reef I suppose
