Live Bait Rigs for Barra and Jacks. : NQ Barra

G'day to All,
Im new to NQ having moved up a few months ago. Ill be landbased till i get my boat up here shortly ( I hope) and was wondering what is the preffered rig most of you use when using live herring and prawns chasing Barra and Jacks .

Good stuff mate. Livebaiting rigs are easy enough. Usually a running ball down to a swivel with a metre trace of around 60lb will do the job although floating a bait into a snag can be effective as well. To be honest though I do bugger all livebaiting though and simply throw lures. If you ever want to hookup for a fish give me a yell.I am only an hour down the road.

Thanks mate, too easy. Yeah i dont mind thowing lures myself. Most of the fishing i did down south (south coast NSW) was soft plastics for flatties , bream etc. Most of my gear, boat and camping gear are still down south so im making do with what ive got here for now and just tying to get a bit of a feel for things up here. Ill take you up on the offer of wetting a line , in keen to learn as much as i can from you locals.

you have me very curious now as I have only been here for 4 1/2 years myself and I am from Kiama on NSW south coast. Where are you from?

Just up the road from Kiama , Mt. Warrigal / Warilla. Small world hey .

Very small world. I think warilla was our traditional enemy(apart from DAPTO anyway) LOL. What days are you availaible for fishin as I am quite often lookin for a serious fisho to do trips with. It's quite often difficult to find good fishos around here

Ill have to get back to you on when i can get out for a fish, me and the mrs run a small bussiness so its hard at times , plus we only have 1 car at the moment so that doesnt help but the sooner the better . Where do you fish mostly ?

Spend a fair bit of time up Tinaroo for the big barra or fishn the rivers around the local area and quite often chase JP's in the fresh
