went and purchased myself a beaut 2 piece rod just conveniant for travel and spent a an hour or two flicking within the berth it was dead low with the tide starting to move in, into the second hour was rewarded with a nice sized jack loosening the drag a bit played around with it for a bit till the novelty wore off then dragged the dead weight in. skeptical to keep it at first after what some people have said about the harbour as ships discharge numerous materials that sometimes ends up in the water. but the fish itself looked superb and the cook agreed he already had a recipie thought up so it was necked. i enclosed a photo of the spot which only ships crew have access to. before catching the jack last night tend to see quite alot of life about trevally, various baitfish a fair bit of rock cod which are frustrating they are costing me squidgees. plus spotted the first barra last night as well swimming at the surface, the specimen would of been pushing a meter. so ive got 5 more sundy nights to try and catch and release the beast even though i am targeting jacks

put in yet another hard effort last night only to be rewarded with a few trevally that were awesome to play with on the light tackle setup. very dissapointed to loose a barra and the lure to the sharp edges of the rocks what kills me the most is i saw it and the fish would of been pushing mid 80cm's. $45 worth of lures gone within an hour of the incoming tide thats fishing i guess, enclosed is a photo of one of the GT's which was released.
