This question has probably been asked a 100 times already by newbie’s like myself & if so please directs me to the links.
I’ve always lived by the rule of fishing the hour before and hour after high tide then pull up stumps, but I have also over heard conversations about fishing the turn of the low tide.
So my questions are, what factors do you consider in the decision making when choosing which tide to fish and are you likely to have better chance at catching certain species and if so what & and Where?
Might be one of those secret squirrel sort of things but it would be good hear some idea's & thoughts on the subjects

The turn of the tide is a good rule of thumb but there are reefs and occasions when fish will bite during the run. There is a good ledge outside Bynoe that fishes well on the outgoing tide.
But generally reef fish come on song at the turn. The turn of the low is my fave.
Because we have such big tides in Darwin and so much variation over the two week cycle, the fishing is constantly changing.
Near the Six Mile Buoy for example you can catch jewies over the rough patches on the big tides, but on smaller tides the smaller mixed reef fish will be biting in exactly the same spots.
Goldies often come on at the turn on the deeper harbour reefs, and switch right off after the turn.
I recall seeing loads of small bubbles come off the Marchart wreck at the turn of a neap tide once. Always wondered what that was - I assume some type of fish were releasing air, if that's possible. And no, it wasn't scuba divers.
I've noticed too that billfish strikes are often at low tide at places like South Gutter.
