Well as this weekend was our clubs momthly comp I decided to take 3 mates out during the night as the wind has been up during the day. We headed out at around 6pm and as I wanted to wait to see what the wind was doing we headed just wide of Charles Point to wait and see and maybe get a few Dew.

Well we didn't have to wait long as we quickly landed 7 Jewies in the boat. I was also happy as the other guy's in the boat hadn't previously landed a 1m dewie before and all the ones we got were over 1m. As I didn't want to get to many dewies and now that the sea had flatten out, we pulled the anchor and headed out wider to a spot I like to fish.

When we got there it was a little slow to start with but still wasn't long before one of the guy's landed a nice 68cm Goldie (another first for him) and another nice 1M+ dewies for me. Well we stayed there most of the night before we started to head in before the wind picked up.

As I still had fish to clean we pulled up close to Charles Point to clean the fish and to give the guy's a final fish. As I have never fished in close before I looked around for a bit of reef to try our luck. Well before I got started we landed a few nice plate size Goldies - Damn more fish to clean.

Well the wind was getting up so we packed up and headed in.

It was good to get out for a night fishing with good mates and even better that they all got thier first catches and PB's - nothing pleases me more than seeing the smiles on there faces. All though the night we had a good supply of fish comming on board and plenty going back, we only got 2 sharks all night and no powertails eigher.

Top report and some great looking fish there. Always nice to put some mates onto some good fish

Good to see charles still fires it has been getting a thrashing from the pro's in recent years

Talking to a mate who's dad is a pro told me they average about 600kgs at charles.

Thanks CB yes it's been awhile and it's great to be back in Darwin and to see the sea again, you can only look at a beach with no tide for so long...

good too see the fish are there, i was just a night early was there on friday night and got nothing but sharks .. 15moves and still sharks ..
