Not sure how many of you use release weights, this movie is well worth watching. Not all fish are suited to them (black jew comes to mind) but others do benefit.

NT Fisheries have good some info on this subject and late last year Sea Reaper took out ET and NT Fisheries staff to do a TV doco on releasing black jew off Bathurst Island. It is a good method but they say it suits shallow water caught jewfish more than deep water caught fish. NT Fisheries might even have a copy of the program. The program was on Escape with ET earlier this year.

I was watching that hook line sinker the other week, and they were out with fisheries reserch, trying to see at what depth a jew can be out back after being dragged up, if my memory serves me right, they said that nearly all fish that came up from over 10 meters would die, and basicly said, that when you have your fish for the day, stop fishing and move on.
