So got me thinking today of places u can collect live bait. Mainly because im having troubles thinking of places around palmerston area where u could throw the net.
I can just go to buffalo creek but if i can go local would be sweet as. So question is does anybody know of a spot around palmerston that I could throw the net and get some live bait?
Gonna fish the narrows on sunday for the low so wanna take some livies as well as the dead bait with me.
have a look around the crabbers camp at the narrows on the low tide near the old boat there is usaly heaps of bait there or low tide at channel island bridge you have to walk down the side of the bridge i used to get heaps of good size mullet there just watch the incoming tide and its a bit of a climb back up with a bucket full of water and bait channel island boat ramp has some good bait at times too

My reply is a bit late unseen but for future reference if you want a few livies check out the drain on Vaney road off catalina road which connects to channel island road. That's close to palmo, use to fish it when i lived in palmo long ago on a peak spring tide. I remember its behind the dump, the drain feeds a creek that goes into the lizzie. Worth a look if you know where im talking about, quite possibliy changed though its been a few years since ive been there. I do remember abundant amount of mullet swimming to a dead end though .
