Crook Cod : Northern Reef & Pelagic Fishing

Hi All,

cruisin back from Charles patches area and came across this cod floatin belly up. He was still breathing well but couldnt submerge. Had a look and didnt see any leader or hooks in his gob...barotrauma? Seemed strange he would be floating belly up like that and still breathing well. Any ideas

looks about the same size as the one they pulled out of lake alexander

maybe he was looking for person to 'attack' :smile:

Poor bugger cant dive with air in its bladder. You said no hooks in it?

contrary to what Bruce the shark says in Finding Nemo. Fish ARE food, not friends. :naughty:

Cod is pretty nice rolled in flour and herb mix, pan fried in lots of butter and served with fresh spicy mexican salsa! :chef2:

By the look of the picture, it looks like you were trying to revive it in your swimming pool :-?

i need a fish that eats mahogony leaves from the bottom of my pool.

but thte fish poop would be no good.

maybe a seal could do the job and does it's poop in the garden.

then I'd have to go get live bait everyday to feed it. stuff that, tooo much work.

seals can balance beers on there nose too.! this is starting to sound good. I wonder what the female seals genitals look like?

Hey Backcast, is live baiting ok if your feeding seals? :naughty:

Must be something to this phnomena (spell) cos me and the JD found lots of Trout floating belly up out wide of Dundee couple weeks back - they werent happy when the net hit em but!! Even less happy when the ice in the kill tank hit them i reckon :smoking:

Ive had cod ,mud crabs and turtles in my pool,just to keep the kids entertained for a few minutes :shock:

, was always gunna chuck a small shark in but they dont live too well in the bait tank :twisted:
