I would try to drop back the leader size a bit in the billabongs especially using light rubbers and scum frogs or surface lures. The heavy leader takes away a lot of small lures actions and sinks surface lures. The thinner diameter of lighter leader allows far more flexibilty to the lure and increases there wobble. I dont really think it is necessary to use much more then 45lb leader in the billabongs.
In saying this I dont fish bongs a lot but the few times I have this is what I have found. Same principle as fishing the flatz in the harbor. Down size the gear and entice more strikes and maximise the number of fish you hook. Once hooked up then worry about the problems of landing the fish.

Mate i only fish weedless, Ive found that Zoom Horny Toads, get on Ebay for about ten bucks a packet, and hollow bellys are getting the best results, using nitro jungle hooks in #4/0 and Jinki 30lb leader, and im not dropping too many anymore, but the strike is def the key to the hook up!!
