No mate, didn't know him. I was only there for 3 seasons, one I did a bit with Peter Bristow, did a couple of trips with Wood and Dennis Wallace and after that I was working out of Townsville on Avis. After that I migrated to Darwin. He might nave been with Brazakka when I went along a couple of times as a "sea rider" but my memory escapes me on that one.

I'll ask Bruce about Peter Bristow.

Didn't know Mal Florence worked at ABC. He made a couple of real good documentaries and disappeared. Was told later that Big C got him.

I think his son was with him on one of the documentaries but I might be confusing him with somebody else.

He had a heart attack riding his bike to work one morning in Brisbane. After leaving Townsville and relocating to Brisbane, he knew that he was a bit on the flabby side, and was convinced to commence a fitness campaign. He was well into that the last time I saw him, and had stripped off a heap of weight. I did a trip with him when he was researching an article about the north of Australia, and he looked very trim on that occasion.

Peter Bristow left Australia during the early 90's and took "Avalon" to the Federated States of Micronesia" a place called Colonia on the island of Pohnpei. He had his "new" bride with him then. He catered for the japanese tourist market and was doing quite well out of it. He took me out for a jolly one day when he had no clients, as put me onto my first Blue Marlin. He sold "Avalon" to japanese interests and went to Britain to have another boat built to fish somewhere off the African coast.................... I think? In any event, I have not seen him since the occasion that I saw him in Pohnpei.
