Manton tactics. : Northern Freshwater Fishing

I have been thinking of a tactic for Manton barra :idea:

. I want to troll it at night with 1 rod out each side with 3ft classics or similar 50mtrs back and work fizzers or poppers directly above these lures -50 mtrs back. We will be fishing with an electric. Any thoughts? Will it work? Any one else tried this method?

Only one way to find out!! Sounds good in theory, try one light diver and a dark coloured one too.

I have tried trolling a tango dancer wayout the back when trolling with some luck, best results was by backing off the drag , better hook up rates, always got to try new tactics.it can't hurt to try.

Worth a try but i would troll both surface lures on the bank side and both divers on the open side. I also would troll the lures on the outside about 10-20 shorter than the ones in the middle. I think this way is the best to avoid tangles especically if the wind gets up.

Couldnt hurt. Just a bit of a pain if ya fishing two up and get a double hook-up and ya got 4 rods out. Heading down later in the week again and going to fish deep jigging one night and surface the other night. Was firing las saturday night down near the wall on the edges around 1-2am. missus got 5 from 90-95cm and i tried to crank one in but my shoulders busted and i had to give her the rod so she landed 5 from 5. I havnt heard the end of it all week.
Good luck mate with the surface lures on top above the shallow runners,stir em right up. :fishing:

seano we were using 160 classics shallow bib were going ok but it is a fickle place steele sounds like hes the man to talk to :mrgreen:
