Big lake JC, about 50 ks long and 20 wide in places. It'll take a lot of paddling to get anywhere. If the southeasteries are still blowing you will be restricted. Not sure how far you want to go but suggest if you head out into the main basin (you'll only be in its northern section) sneak around to the islands to the west. You may even get over to Pint Pot bay. Expect a lot of powertails whereever you go. They'll eat most lures and baits.

Mate if you only want Barra or Sooty you may be disappointed. I would target Cat fish or silver gobbler i believe they called it. We used squid and prawns and caught them by the millions biggest going 83cm and they give a good fight, heaps of fun.

You will find it hard to get barra or grunters up the lake, all you will get are powertails and more powertails...sorry I meant silver cobbler...there is talk of a barra stocking program happening in kununurra soon not to sure if it includes lake argyle or just lake kununurra. good luck...paddle hard been a bit windy lately.

i went on the same camp last year hey, its late now but you fish the bays and coves of the pelican islands with any bait at all and you will dominate the grunters hey

Been fishing at the lake a few times, never caught any barra in the lake but know the bridge you are talking about I think the barra have grown up since you went fishing there, early in the year I got 6 between 93 and 99 then snapped my brand new GLOOMIS rod on what would have been my first metrey. In the actual lake I use light gear on some of the big powertails up there.
