Thinking of going to four mile hole this weekend has anyone been out recently how is the road any tips on which lures are working out there !

I assume the crossings must be even deeper than they were before, which is about 65cm

Crossings were ok, not too muddy and not to deep stick to the left was what i was told and it worked ok, as you get close to the floodplains of 4 mile there was some water over the road from the storm the night before, hard solid ground under it so wasn't any issue. there was 1 muddy patch about 1km before the billabong itself. drove through it on the way there just in 2 wheel drive, ended up slipping and sliding trying to pull the boat through, but if it is like that when you go you can just drive around it on the grass. other smarter people have done it and made track just follow it.

as for lures, throw your tackle box at them, had so many follow ups and hits, only boated a few little ones. could see them swimming, cast to them, they just swam away from the lure, FRUSTRATING.

I take it you were in the top ender muzza? I did the same tried heaps of lures, and I was only getting luck on surface lures. I ended up with four legal, nothing of any great size. Not sure if it will be accessiable this weekend with all the rain they have been getting out there.

yeah Ben Jam that was me with the missus. she out fished me on a little lucifer in the start of the day. but i slowly came back with weedless squidgies

thats probably my last trip out there this year, wont take much for the rangers to close that road off.

And yeah with the storms over the past few days it could make it interesting....
