well after haveing our first kid a few months back i got to celebrate my first fathers day
it didnt start of well with me waking early sunday morning and asking the mrs you right to get up and head into the boat show
the response i got was shut the ....beep up i just got the baby to sleep didnt realise she had only managed 2 hours sleep during the night with an upset baby
so went and fiddled in the shed and tinkered with the boat for a couple of hours and let her sleep
then called a mate and asked if he was keen for a fish in a small billabong just outta town so plans were made and we set off
matty and kristen jumped in with us in our car and mick and his mrs and kids in his hilux and hour and a half later we arrived at about 2 oclock
and it didnt look promising with a few people allready at one of out spots so we moved up the billabong a few km and set up there
matty rigged his rod before his mrs and wasted no time first cast a small 60cm model come in thought thats ok
then next cast he arsed a 92cm on his second cast this was the start of a good day
it was fairly none stop fishing with the kids and us all catching good fish just on dark it went nuts with a fish a cast and generally quality swampies
in the high 80s to 90s

his first barra outside of the womb he even managed a bit of thumb burn and finger jamming in the level wind whilst i was holding him maybe the reason mum chcucked him in the carrier

mick and his young fella sam with a swampy this was micks best at 69cm he was being out fished by his mrs and his daughter at one stage he ended up with an 82cm

sam with a nice one matt caught and kept and ate for dinner suprising arent muddy these fish as we have eaten them quite a bit while camping there

me with a pretty clean one we released as we allready had 3 this was probabaly the most silver fish we managed of any size it went 87cm

can only hope all the fathers days to come are as good as this one beers barra and a few laughs with family and good mates
quick edit forgot to mention i think we would have caught close to 100 barra not including rats ya try and shake off rther than dragging up the bank
