Chasing a handpiece from a GME GX600A VHF

Hello all,

Does anybody have a handpiece left over from a broken GME GX600A VHF head unit?

Mine has corrosion evident where the coily cable enters the hand held unit, I cant transmit but can receive via the mic on the head unit. I'd like to try it out and see if I can get away without buying a whole new radio...

I've got one you can have - can pick up in howard springs sunday if you like. Is your plug in or soldered in? Mine seems to be soldered.

Cheers Wombat, but mine was the plug-in. It has an RJ12 clip behind the rubber boot. I think I know yours, has a screw-off connector. Thats probably the GX600 model.

I managed to pick one up from the Yacht Shop yesterday for about $70. Cheaper than a new radio. Dont think I will buy GME again tho.
