Floating pliers- tips
Hi guys,
I must be onto my 4th set of pliers now, lost my last set a few months ago. I've now bought some new ones, what's the best wa to attach a crab pot float (or other float) to the handle if it has no hole? Cheers,
Jack

Put a hole in it.
You might have wanted a better answer, but that is it.
Sometimes the handle, is not as hard to drill, as you expect.
Start with a new Drill Bit, and maybe a pilot hole, as well.
You don't know, until you try.

The guides on Nomad charters had a lanyard made from a surfboard leg rope. the Velcro slips around your biceps and is out of the wayt. great idea.
with those floating ones, don't clip them onto the bait board or similar because they develop a memory and don't close up all the way

Re: Floating pliers- tips
I lost a couple of nice ones, so about 7 odd years ago i just bought a couple of el-cheapos from Supercheap... Thinking if they went over I was only down ten bucks. Coated them with Lanogaurd as i only expected them to last until they went over the side anyway.
I still have the originals. Still going strong. So my advice is dont waste your money on flash ones, just buy rubbish.

Or google how to sharpen drill bits if they aren't all blue n overheated then run it under cold water as you rip into it with the battery drill

Slow speeds for drilling. If you go flat out and heat it up it hardens the steel, and bluntens the bit. It's a catch 22, you keep pushing harder and faster, and it drills less and becomes harder and harder. Maybe best to start a new hole if you get a sharp bit.
