Hi guys, I'm using the Big Fella's log in to show a photo of one that I caught last weekend in the Boyne River. Well he's been taking out the boy's and the've had been doing pretty good, when they asked him where they were going this week he replied 'I've got to take out the Mrs', its her boat too!". We'd only just left the boat ramp and started trolling, weapon of choice?... Penn Tournament rod and Curado E7, using our favorite lure brand Warlock, 3+ . Bumped over a bit of a rocky bar about 50m from the boat ramp and she hit me good! The big girl made a fantastic jump and then it was on, she made me work for it. Being so close in I had a bit of an audience and that made me determined not to loose her, about 10 mins and some help on her part by swimming towards the boat made it a bit easier. She was done when we netted her. A quick measure put her at 1.06m and she wasn't a thin girl, her tail was still dark but showing signs of turning yellow. The big girl was put in the water a quick as possible and swam of quited dignified after her ordeal.

The boyne is the river below the wall at Awoonga dam Gladstone region central qld.....where all the pics of those meteries sailing over in the floods came from

Yep, seriously thrilled so soon after launching. By 7.50am I was ready to go home! Couldn't top that for the day! The amount of traffic on the water from the ramp I was really surprised I hooked up that quick. I'd be pretty safe in saying she came over the wall from Awoonga. Just need a metre sticker now to compete with the Big Fella's! I'm happy to say she is my biggest to date even with the ones I've caught a few years ago in Callide Dam over the Metre, before we had the big kill with the cold that winter, that was a tragic event, the amount that died. Good Luck on the water guys, as the saying goes 'there's plenty of fish in the sea, it just depends on your tackle'!
