Finnisss feb 1 : Metre Barra

All excited and full of anticipation at 5am heading to the finniss. Got to the ramp at about 7am and the ONLY BOAT THERE. The sea was perfect for the trip accross fog bay. I have been here 23 years and never seen fogg bay a tannin color, the whole bay had a good mix of fresh. Once inside the river hit a few pitcure perfect clearwater runoff creeks and within the first 20 minutes I had a solid hookup on a good fish in the mid to high 80's. After several jumps and runs and boils near the boat we were about to have our first fish of the day, then the hooks pulled and the shemale had won the battle. Good stuff only problem was THAT WAS IT FOR THE NEXT 6 HOURS NOT A TOUCH AFTER THAT ALL DAY. As mentioned the water we fished was straight out of an IFISH video but there was no bait present AT ALL which explained the lack of fish. All in all a great day on the water and another learning experience. You wont catch fish sitting at home watching the Aussies go 5 - 1 up in the oneday series so get out there and see Australia/territory, as I say to the kids when you least expect it is when that fish of a lifetime will hit and tranfer a slow uneventful day into a day you will remember for life. Thats what fishing is about. The road was perfect, the sea was perfect and a great day was had by all. Can you believe we were the only boat out there, maybe shady and the daly was full but the end conclusion is that it is still too early for the finniss as there is no bait yet better off hitting the mary,south and the daly. Hey Barrabase, you diffenitely save our bums that day. We could have easily been stuck out there until the weekend with no :drinking2:

As I posted last week the Finnis is at least a month away. Fog Bay is all fresh water at the moment and your right thers no bait around.

No worries Barrabase, just went out there to try our luck and have a look. As they say a bad days fishing is BETTER than a good day at work. Anyway mate have fixed the problem now mate I BOUGHT 2 HUGE OARS which should get us home before the tractor knocks off.

you should get get a oars for each kid in the boat and you will get up on the plain

Yeh thats true. That many kids in the boat last time I was followed back to the ramp by customs.
