GOVE,,, GROOTE billfish comp dates : Marlin & Sailfish

anyone know the dates of the gove comp and is thee anyone from gove who is fishing the comp on this forum
send me a PM and i will give you a call and have a talk to you to find out some info i know it is in november some time
is the groote billfish comp at a similar time of the year???

the date are the same for gove and groote. I'm fishing the groote comp for 3rd time. The date are the 19 to 26/11/11.It's going to be a cracker. The boys are having fat time good blacks already

oh your kidding was hoping they would be close together but thats a pain being on the same dates
do you think they will allow you to enter both comps and fish them both hahahahahah
freight on the barge to gove is apparently going to cost a fortune so now looking at boating around from the roper to gove
about 500km each way see how work is and the weather for the comp dates i guess

The Groote comp goes for 8 days to cover both sides of the residential 4x4 roster.

Here are some Groote Eylandt weigh points to give you a starting point if you fish the comp, all close proximity to South Point, give us a yell if you want to have a yak about the area/or what we found out about the area, hopefully the Groote Club willl also provide a map with weigh points they have identified as holding Billies, cheers Balls.

we will be fishing the last three day of the comp. The best day last year was the last. I was lucky. I got to catch the biggest fish for the comp.
A nise fish about 150+kg we will be team belly up and fishing out the boat called R.D.O

last time we went to groote law fawcett was helping us out is he still around ???

By recent reports the Billys have been thick recently. I haven't tried lately but those that have, have been rewarded. Hope they keep up for the Groote comp.
