It tried a warlock 62 i think for the first time last week - opened the packet and in the water, 10 min later a solid hookup, fish jumps once then goes on a nice run.... then hooks pull... darn, that happens.... pull in lure - back hooks and split ring missing and front hook straightened... drag was set normal and didn't thumb the spool....
replaced hooks with vmc hooks and spilt rings and back in the water - 10 min later redeemed it's self with a nice 82.
got home and tested another one and I could straighten split rings just by holding hook in hand pulling lure with fingers wihtout too much effort....
lure has good action and produced hits but looks like the hard wear is less Than I would expect from that lure...
MCWB had the split rings straighten on her in the SWB on a nice fish. Very poor on a lure that is fresh out of the packet and designed in Australia for Barra.
i have had the same problem with reidy's lures and halco poppers strighten hooks like no tomorrow

yep rooster poppers have woeful hooks, I caught seanos rod on the backswing at the daly this year lucky the hooks straightened or I'd have cast his rod across the river

I've been using the 125 warlocks down the lower ord with great success this year with barra up to 89cm, have had no problems with hooks but am finding the bibs are breaking easily...other than that another great classic lure.
