G'day all just wondering your thoughts bout spinner baits for barra or if you have ever used them? I've used them for bass years ago but never barra. I think they would work and thinking bout givin them ago. Cheers bisho
As a kid I tried many times but was never able to land one... One of my fishing regret... Maybe in the future I will go back there for some holidays and will be able to catch one...
Anyway, you know now that some very sturdy ones exist...

Spinner baits for me have really only been an option in the calm billabongs or a really rigth situation.
They are easily affected by water flow in places like the Daly, where they tumble and hook the line too easily, but can be killer in the right situation. We used them a few times as sort of a drifting lure, where we were up a creek and throw the spinner to a little run off and let them tumble and drift with the flow and bang, onto another rat.
The ones I used in that situation were a Steve Starling creation I got from that tackle joint in Coffs. They were a clearence item at $1.00 each and I got 29 and now have two left.
I used some for little macs as well but because of their large surface area and light weight they were hard to get down to any depth.
I know there are heavier large ones but they werent worth the money to me.
But a good lure with plenty of action and noise so worth a play with.
