the missus bought a heap of these of the internet about 6 months ago she has used them at night during the day and no success at all just a rip off i think ,they no good in salt water the led relys on water to activate it some how the water enters the the lure and turns the led on once the water is in there i cant get out , hence all the electronics rust salt water and electronics dont mix if you want to put a light on your lure just go buy one of those cylume tubes and stick that too your lure

That was a question that I was going to ask. Has any one actually done any good for barra on the glow in the dark lures or rubbers that you have to hold your torch on?
I have had good success in deep water on goldies and jew but barra just seem to ignor them or at least when I have used them.Whats everyones thoughts?

Cant comment on whether barra are attracted to glowing bait/lures or not but I tried the glow beads on goldies (shallower type water on a paternoster rig) and anything else that was down there for zilch. As soon as I took the glow beads off I started getting bites.

Cheers for the info. Just curious. When you are using the glow in the dark lures did you test to see if any thing else was getting hit. I .e lures that dont glow. Do you reckon that they make a definate difference for the better or was it just one of those bites that they would have eatin anything that moved? Clean or dirty water? Assumed that dirty water they maybe affective but abit dubious about clear. Also thought they may work around the coast as the squid that they eat have bioluminescents and the glow in the dark lures might imitate it. What do you think?
