Name This Lure
I found this lure in a snag a few weeks ago and I've caught some barra on it lately. I want to buy more of them but i don't know the name or the brand of the lure. Can someone help?

Here's a good tip, take the middle treble off and upgrade the other trebles one or two sizes bigger to something like VMC 6x, you will stay connected better to a large Barramundi.

If you're in Darwin, try the bargain bin at the front of F&OW, haven't had a look for a while but there used to be plenty of Manns stretch lures in there.

I think Blinky is on the money. I don’t think Manns ever printed fins and gills on their DD lures? I could be very wrong though.Blinky wrote:It's an old Reidy's "Daly Devil"
It has always been my private conviction that any man who pits his intelligence against a fish and loses has it coming.
Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.

Re: Name This Lure
Hi there,
Your lure is interesting...
I would say that it is a Mann's but there is a few things that I do find a bit strange with it.
First Mann's usually has the Mann's logo printed or engraved toward the end/tail of the lure, it doesn't seem to be on your lure.
Then, the gill and fin printed on it, look a lot like the ones printed on the Classic Lures, and they are trade marked, so I don't think that Mann's would be allowed to use them.
And the eye of your lure, is it a sticker or a 3D eye?
Maybe your lure is a copy of either a Mann's or a Reidy's?
Now, here are two photos, of the Mann's and the Reidy's side by side. (Pardon the quality of the pics, they are just quick snaps done with my phone)
You will notice that the Mann's has 3 hooks, while the Reidy's has two hooks only.
They do look very similar, but the Reidy's is built stronger.
Anyway, your lure is interesting and if ever you find a positive ID for it, I would love to know it.
Have a good day,
Pecheur
