Small block of cheese on bait holder hook. Works a treat.

You needed special tactics NOT to catch them where I used to fish in Brisbane

Fair few right at the top of the finniss fresh, tiniest lures, plastics or hardbodies you can cast effectively, they're cranky little things doesn't take much to get them to hit
fish are skinny, the ocean is fat

If I may ask, why are you targeting them? Are they top for sport? Are they tasty?

Re: spangled grunter
Fresh water species will nip the all forgotten/underrated garden worms. I may suggest try it for bait. Float or light / minimal sinker rig may do the trick. Experiment , you'll be catching them.leopard wrote:well for one they are not that bad fighters and for seconds i am bored of catching stripey's and i want to catch something else because lately i haven't been able to go fishing any where else and yet again i'm only young so i cant drive my self anywhere.
