My Girls arrived yesterday from Albury so twas a big day exacerbated by the storm that stranded them on the Tarmac for over 2 hrs :evil:

3rd time up here and I've never caught them a barra so promised them one this time :wink:

Luckily I had bought the latest NT fishing mag which had a story that Matt wrote about a Barra Farm out Berry Springs way!

A phone call and I was booked to take the Missus and kids out Thursday arvo

Well what can I say....?

Whilst it wasn't wild fishing i can gladly say it was a ball for all

Started slow but ended up with us all catching heaps of barra all at least 65+ with one 55 squeezed in.

My youngest isn't that keen so of course she got the biggest @ 79cm :banghead:

Just took my light gear and squidgy's were tha go.

As i said was in Matts mag so all good.

Great fun by the looks. I wanted to take my nephew there but thy have to be older then 11 or something which is a shame. Some swampies there. I thought farmed barra would be a lot cleaner then that.

Uh yeah definitely swampy but you are allowed 1kg fillets or @4kg whole fish.

We took the fillet option and yes we ate it last night........not the same as a salty for sure

have hit the barra fram when the olds were up earlier in the year. top spot.
i reccomed anyone who has freinds or relitives up and want a fun 2 hours - hit the farm.
great for the elderly who cant handle the heat of a full day in the boat.

we took the old man there for fathers day. he had a ball and even the old girl got in and had a go..

Good one Sy! I was also under the impression that there was a minimum age - my 4yo son wants to catch a barra but tends to get overheated and tired creek fishing (don't we all sometimes) and dad is not good enough to guarantee him one!! I have just sent off an email to find out if I can take him there and will let everyone know the answer.
