rapid Creek ??? : Landbased Fishing

Hi just wondering if anyone has done any good or even caught anything in rapid creek behind the uni, thinking of wetting a line there, would like to here your comments.

I was actually going to ask the same thing. I was walking down that way with a mate a few days ago to explore it. Theres that little feeder creek as you go down towards the rapid creek area, and usually holds schools of mullets and scats, so i was thinking that the creek should be a pretty decent spot.

I've heard someone say there are nice mangrove jacks there.

took a mtae there one night and I got a nice 60 odd mate started fishing on top of me so started to walk away ,then he hooked his second ever barra -102 cm !

It was in March, at night about 2-3 hrs after high tide-after a new moon -he caught it on a big popper. This was about 10 years ago.

Dont know Dreamrider- Only fished for barra there- gold bombers and poppers. Live bait would be a good option- deepest hole is on the left side of the little island- about 2mtrs deep at low tide- thats where the metrey came from

I used to fish there when i was younger was a good place for jacks but found a meter plus barra up in the mangroves one day looked like a croc had a go at it or something.

livebait works well there but after one is caught in that hole you usually cant catch another for a few weeks till another fish decides to move in i guess
