Hey all, went out to shady camp with the misses n kids to fish the barrage as the tide flows over into the fresh side.Got there around 7pm and noticed a heap of cars comin out and heaps of water on the road so plenty of rain out there.Thought maybe nothin bein caught so was getting anxious to see the water level. Finally arrived and holy cr.p 5 cars still there. And the water flowin over about ankle deep from the fresh water so has come up a bit since i was last there.Couldn't help notice 2 lines of people on both sides of barrage as the salt water was rising as well.Worked out there was a group of about 10 chinese assholes fishin the salt side ,trebled lures n all. Couldn't beleive what i was seein.Handed the relevant info to the police anyway not expecting too much. And to make things worse someone rigged up 2 flood lights on the gate hooked to a generator so the whole area was lit up. So much for night fishing hey.As usual the drunks left there junk everywhere and only a couple of legal fish caught which where the unlucky ones. One of my young fellas got a 58cm and the misses got one barra at 65cm and they were silver fish so we kept those. We landed about 5 fish each but all rats.Left the 20 plus fisho's still there to fight it out.Sorry for no pics, try n remember the camera next time.

Been a lot of people fishin the salt side lately as well as live baiting it according to my mate who has been fishing it a bit. Be good to see fisheries out there again sorting a few of them out. I went once recently and it had 5 people live baiting the salt.

I was also at shady last night and watched in complete shock as the group of Asian fishermen broke every rule on the sign post they had parked in front of . I also watched them neck an undersize fish, when I quizzed them on it they hid it under their boots. It would be great to see more fisheries officers out in the field to try and deter some of this behaviour. Shadymad did you pass the details to police or fisheries police?

Shadymad - No we didn't fish, we where the group that sat by the measuring board and watched, bit to busy for us. I agree with the light spooking the fish

Its not just the Asians who break the laws there. Ive seen 3 Aussies fishing on the salt side using trebles. I asked one bloke and he said he 'never reads signs'
