Just got back from howard river rock bar nailed a 65cm barra first cast and followed it up with 13 rats. That was at my secret spot number 1 as i got to secret spot 2 knowing if there was fish at number 1 then there will be more at this spot but when i got near the water there was this cheeky 2m croc that was in my way so thought i would leave him the fish and head back to spot one. Not much was happening after that so headed home.

Not a bad little sesh. Ive fished a couple times around that area and have had a croc about 2/2.5m crack the s...ts at me fishing his spot.. Seen him coming at me and quickly moved back up the bank and he stopped just short of the mud and then watched me from the other side of the bank for 30 mins till I took off.. I reckon a nice thick stick would be the go for those cheeky ones.

I have been thinking of fabricating a device that i saw used on a croc farm for land based fishing, a section of cyclone fence or actually half a cyclone mesh gate like the driveway ones with a triangular folding stand on the back of it. you would unfold and prop the gate section up in front of you on the bank and fish from behind it, that way any croc lunging at you would grab the fence mesh leaving you to escape, the traingular stand bit behind would mean the fence was pushed backwards not over if it was lunged at.
