Chucked a popper around first thing yesterday morning. I was mostly just spooking the mullet and milkys. After casting non stop for an hour and a half my little popper got absolutely monstered and watched helplessly as 100+ metres of 20lb was peeled off my reel. Took about 15 minutes to get half of it back, gain a couple of metres, lose a couple of metres. Then disaster, the fish came around too far on one of its arcs and i felt that horrible feeling of braid running past a rock. I free spooled hoping the fish would swim clear but it didn't work. Game over. I didn't get a look at it but I'll call it for a GT probably similar size to my effort last year.
Re-rigged and got this guy not long after. Put on a good show with a couple of jumps.
Saw some busting in a current line near the next point and went for a look. I managed to get within range and put a metal jig into some boils but didn't convert any of the hits.

Thanks seano, the brassys go hard but they fight a lot cleaner here than the ones I used hook in the pilbara. Never used to survive the first run over there.
