Finally!!!!!.. Folks, the response to what started out as a simple request to help brighten up an otherwise miserable day for a few kiddies', has now turned the notion of a dedicated.. FFF..Mate's..Day...into a reality. The time-frame on the day of the party, and the availability of boats/skippers/crews, due to other committments, has prompted me to re-think the whole exercise..Having spoken to a few Forum members on the subject i've come up with what seems to be a very workable solution. In the aim of having the largest number of boats available.. I'll leave the selection of the day/fishin'spots to the the skippers willing to participate..The logistics of providing the outfits/transport/deckies etc, will be the responsibility of we "boatless" one's who've put up the hand. Who knows? This has the potential..As suggested by another member(Schubie), to become an Annual Event on the FFF Calender..We can get the details of the kiddies at the Party, and hold the FFF Day during the interval between then and Chrissie. If it proves to be unworkable, due to the constraints mentioned, we may have to think about moving the day. I'm hoping we don't..Please post your thoughts on the subject. Cheers Graham(shorty).

OK here goes I spoke with the Olefart today and realised that the boat/fishing trip would be better on a different date than the pressie function as it does not finish until late, so all of us boaties YES THAT MEANS YOU!!!! that volunteered our services should have a get together to discuss dates tides tactics etc to take the youngsters out. I am open to suggestions re meeting place and time so lets hear from you guys and get this show on the road. My idea at the moment is to take the youngsters out on the harbour as it is fairly sheltered and has a variety of fishing options available at any time. I am also happy to hand out some sure fire marks??? for the harbour as in I use them to catch live Jewie/mack baits small Spanish flag 15 to 30 centimetre jobbies and great for kids to catch and release . Also would like all those landbased fisherpersons involved to come along as well because we may need deckies Thanks in advance for your suggestions of meeting place time and date.

Thanks Jeff, I've tried to keep it both affordable and functional..The Rod/Reel combos are good ol' JW..And the tackle kit is pretty comprehensive as a starter.Pic of everything coming.

If we end up with a few kids and we can't fit them on the boats the wharf seem to be a good spot to get the kids fishing at least. Might have to rotate the kids between the boats and wharf. What do you think???? Buff creek in the afternoon to nut it out sound fine with me, I'll be right any afternoon other than Melb cup day.

Jeff, The young lass in charge of BCF has taken this thing on to the point where, I walked in today and told her we might need another 30 outfits, and she didn't bat an eye..She said she'd get them here asap by going direct to the supplier. I can imagine trying that on with Kmart..I'd still be there trying to get a result..I may have forked out a bit more for them..But I walked out the door with everything in one hit, with the knowledge that I can repeat the process seamlessly. As you remarked, the weather is a factor, that's why I've left the planning to the Skippers/deckies to nut out, ochre cards are a definite asset and anyone prepared to hook in,fisho or not, is more than welcome. Thanks Jeff, the input from everyone is what'll make or break this effort.
