Figure out what things you want in the policy and then call the various mobs. Call the one you want to go with last and haggle with them. If you are a member of the PGFC, we get a good discount with club marine

I Just renewed mine with TIO again. 3rd year running they have been over $100 cheaper than Club Marine. I had a claim 2 yrs ago when i hit a ??? in the daly, new gearbox & shaft, they were a bit slack getting the payment through to the repairer but they accepted the claim no worries and didn't put my premium up the following year. Also with TIO all policies automatically cover cyclone damage. If the house, garage, boat are all insured together with one company it should be covered if the house blows into the shed and bends the boat!

I'm the same, i have been with TIO for some years now and we had a miss hap at shady a couple of years ago, TIO processed the claim straight away and had the gearbox fixed and reconditioned no worries at all. They also came to the party when my sounder was knocked off from the boat. Hard lesson learnt there. F%^K$n criminals.............

I am with TIO, only had to claim insurance twice before (cars not boats), TIO was good to deal with, the other company (not Club Marine) was down right useless. I priced up TIO againse club marine at the boat and motor show last year and they were at least 3-400 more expensive!!, TIO gave a small discount but even at full tilt they were about a $100 or so cheaper.

used to be with club marine till they said the insurance was only valid 50km from civlisation..... I was in gove at the time went with CGU , cost was similar, agreed value for the life of the policy, was valid right around the coastline to 200km & monthly payments were buggerall extra. never had a claim so don't know about that side of it

Geez you just scared the cr.p out of me so i just checked with Club marine online ‘Geographic Limits’ means those waters up to 250 nm off the Australian mainland and Tasmania, and the New Zealand North and South Islands unless restricted or noted on the Schedule. http://www.clubmarine.com.au/internet/c ...
